Brataslava
August 2022
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is set along the Danube River, in the
Little Carpathian mountains. We took a walking tour of the pedestrian-only, 18th-century old town.
St Martin's Cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of Brataslava,
built in the New Gothic style atop a Romanesque temple in 1452.
Brataslava Castle is a Baroque Castle that overlooks the town
and the Danube river. It dates back to 907.
After leaving Brataslava, we were supposed to disembark the MS Savor at Estergom
to be bused to Krakow but had to continue on to Budapest due to a problem with the water level,
which made our bus ride longer.
